West Sussex Archaeology Ltd has been operating in the field of heritage and archaeology since September 2001. We specialise in helping our clients gain the various consents needed in order to undertake construction projects affecting historic remains (including planning permission, Listed Building Consent, Scheduled Monument Consent & Faculties), followed by then dealing with any resulting conditions attached to such consents. In addition we run a variety of purely research projects focused upon enabling members of the public to get involved in archaeology.

George Anelay has been Director of West Sussex Archaeology since its inception. He undertakes to personally run and direct every project, ensuring a level of communication and efficiency that is hard to beat. Over the years he has also established a network of experienced specialists who can be brought on board should a project require. George gained his first degree in Ancient History & Archaeology at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, followed by a Masters in Professional Archaeology at the University of Oxford. He has worked full time as an archaeologist since 1999.
